You are probably wondering why I’m calling Elysian Brewing the Pumpkin brewery and don’t worry I will get into that but first lets get into when they got started. Elysian Brewing got started in 1996 in Seattle’s most populous neighborhood, Capitol Hill. The next location, Elysian Fields, opened 10 years later in August of 2006 right next to Seattle’s two sports arenas.

Elysian Brewing is well known for their classic styles but also their innovation. Now why do I call it the pumpkin brewery? I call it that because Elysian’s brewers are notorious for the Pumpkin beers and they even host the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival every year.

They have won various awards like Large BrewPub of the Year at Great American Beer Festival. They have three locations and a production brewery all located in the Seattle area. The third location opened in 2017 next to their Georgetown Brewery.

With that, lets get into the beer. Now I can’t call it the brewery without talking about their famous pumpkin beers:

Elysian Night Owl

Night Owl is Elysian’s take on the classic Pumpkin Ale. Sitting at 6.7% ABV this beer is super drinkable and is brewed with juice and pumpkin puree, and spiced with nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, allspice and cloves. Perfect beer to celebrate Halloween no matter where you are.

Punkoccino

Sitting at 6% ABV this a pumpkin ale with barista attitude. Punkuccino has a small shot of coffee toddy from Stumptown. Perfect for any coffee beer lovers!

The Great Pumpkin

If you are looking for a heavier pumpkin beer The Great Pumpkin is for you. Sitting at 8.4% ABV you get a very heavy pumpkin, spice, and sugar aroma with a nice malty back. They put roasted pumpkin seeds in the mash and extra pumpkin in the fermenter.

Space Dust IPA

This IPA sitting at a hefty 8.2% doesn’t even taste like its that high in abv. You get that hoppy taste upfront but then you have a smooth stardust finish.

Superfuzz

This mind-blowing beer sitting at 6.4% abv has the perfect mix of Northwest hops and blood orange. Orange peel was added to the whirpool and then blood orange was added in the fermenter. If you want to shake things up a bit mix this brew with Space Dust and make a FuzzDuster!

If you happen to be in the Phoenix area come up to Cave Creek this Halloween and try some seasonal beers from these guys as well as many others around 7 PM!
