It all started with Brewmaster and Founder Anthony Canecchia’s mission to make wonderful beer and food pairings. In 2007 he opened up SanTan Brewing in Historic Downtown Chandler, Arizona to do just that.

Two years later their beer became so popular that they decided to start canning them. Not only did they decide to start canning but they were one of the pioneers of the “craft can revolution”and they have stayed true to those practices.

They have won various medals at competitions such as the Great American Beer Festival as well as the World Beer Cup and with that lets get into their beers.

1920 Lager

One of the beers to look out for and one we’ll be trying at this weeks tap takeover is the 1920 Arizona Style Lager. This blond lager got its name from the prohibition. This lager has a fruity aroma and a light malt body with earthy undertones sitting at an easy drinking 4.7% abv perfect for the Arizona heat.

Juicy Jack

Another beer we’ll be tasting this week is their Juicy Jack Hazy IPA. This Hazy only has Mosaic and Cashmere Hops with flavors of peach, guava, and tangerine. Even for it sitting at 6.5% abv it is very juicy and refreshing also perfect for these hot summers.

Hefeweizen

Another beer to look out for in stores is SanTan’s Hefeweizen. This is a Southwestern Style Hefe citrus, banana peel, and lemon peel flavor to it. Sitting at 5% abv also a perfect beer for the summer.

Now the beer that keeps their lights on Moonjuice Galactic IPA sitting at 7.3% abv is made with lots of  Galaxy and Nelson-Sauvin hops that gives off peach and apricot aromas.

Moonjuice Grapefruit IPA

Basically this one is Moonjuice but with grapefruit juice from Arizona. However, this one only sits at 6.6% abv whereas its predecessor sits at 7.3%.

Hopshock

Last but certainly not least Hopshock IPA the beer that introduced me to SanTan. This is a Southwestern IPA sitting at 7.1% abv. This beer is also brewed with the rare Nelson-Sauvin hops which gives you that peach and apricot aroma.
