Not only do we need to figure out gifts for our loved ones but we also need to make the drink menu for Christmas Day. In this post I will be telling you some of my favorite craft beers I love drinking this holiday season.

O’Dell Isolation Ale

This winter warmer sitting at 6.1% ABV is a favorite of mine because not only is it delicious but it reminds me of my college days up in Wyoming. Isolation Ale has a caramelly malty taste up front with a bitter hop finish at the end which is exactly what I look for in a winter warmer.

New Belgium Accumulation White IPA

Now I don’t really post a lot of New Belgium but this beer is truly one of my favorite beers of all time. Sitting at 6.2% ABV this is a big bitter IPA with an addition of wheat to calm the bitterness. It is called a White IPA to commemorate the snow that is falling this time of year in the Rocky Mountains. Wait what Rocky Mountains? Yes New Belgium is not only in Asheville, North Carolina but also Fort Collins, Colorado.

New Belgium Snow Day Winter Ale

Who would be pretty stoked to get snowed in at a brewery? I would be in fact I would bring myself a sleeping bag and make myself comfortable but unfortunately I cannot get that in the desert. This beer is the closest I have to that experience. In fact this beer was inspired by the 2003 Fort Collins Snow Storm where they got 37 inches of snow over two days. It was so bad that the only way you could get around town was by ski or tobaggan.  Now that is what I call a snow day!

Samuel Smiths 30th Winter Welcome Ale

Samuel Smiths never ceases to amaze me and if you want it you have to go to a Total Wine or BevMo because that will be the only place you can find it. This Winter Ale comes in at 6% and is a nice full bodied beer with a slightly boozy and very malty flavor.

Anchor Brewing Merry Christmas Happy New Year Ale

This brew sitting at 6.9% ABV is just a classic Christmas Ale. It is just malty with the slightest bit of sweetness. Perfect for anyone that is just looking for a traditional Christmas beer. Elf on the shelf approved!
