What the heck is an upslope? It is a meteorological term referring to “a front range-covering, water-table-filling, snow-dumping weather pattern that anyone with bindings and a roof rack would die for (Upslope Brewing).” Now in terms of beer it means it’s “carbonated gold” according to Upslope Brewing. Dany Page, Henry Wood, and Matt Cutter moved from their homes in Atlanta, Cleveland, and Argentina in 2008 to bring their love of brewing to the beautiful state of Colorado. After 10 years of supplying Colorado with delicious brews one thing has become certain, these guys didn’t just put another microbrew on the mountain of Colorado microbrews. They created a spectacular lineup of beers that taste fantastic in the taproom as well as fishing on the Colorado River.
The three owners that I mentioned before have a passion for two things: living the outdoors life and brewing the perfect beer for any adventure. With that Apres Everything was born. Upslope believes that playing hard should be rewarded with good quality beer.
Now that you know the history lets jump into their core beers.
First on the list is their craft lager sitting at a very easy drinking 4.8% ABV this brew is brewed entirely out of malted barley. Definitely perfect for a day by the river or on the beach with some fish tacos.

Now one of my favorites is their Citra Pale Ale sitting at 5.8% ABV. You get a tropical fruity aroma that almost feels like your drinking juice. I personally love drinking this with a cheeseburger to get all the juiciness.

Now my absolute favorite of course is their IPA sitting at 7.2% ABV. This is your very traditional IPA so very hop forward and when I was drinking this in college up in Wyoming I loved having it with Pizza while studying for finals.

Now first in the lineup for beers we will be trying tomorrow at the Janey’s Tap takeover is their Rocky Mountain Kolsch. This brew stays true to the style but with a little bit of a Colorado twist (and no it does not have weed) but it’s made with Colorado honey. Perfect with some trout that you just caught.

Next in the lineup for tomorrow is their Experimental IPA. Sitting at 6.5% ABV this year’s Experimental IPA has Cashmere, Loral, and Cascade hops perfectly paired with Prosciutto.

Next on the menu is the Guava Blonde. Sitting at 4% ABV this Belgian style blonde is brewed with guava puree, pilsner malt, and East Kent Golding hops. Perfect for a hot summer day with some brie and crackers.
If you find any of these fine beers in stores be sure to add them to your cooler for America’s independence or if you are in the Phoenix area come up to Janey’s Bodega for the Upslope tap takeover tomorrow at 7 PM. Happy Independence Day and until next time Hoppy Travels.
